Ross Lane Pearlman, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist with dual fellowship training in cosmetic dermatology and Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Pearlman received his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his medicine internship at the University of Colorado Anschutz in Denver, followed by a dermatology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson on their Rural Dermatology Track.
While in residency, he spent three months of each year caring for patients in rural Mississippi with a focus on skin cancer. After residency, Dr. Pearlman completed a combined fellowship at Northwestern Feinberg Department of Dermatology in Chicago in cosmetic dermatology (ASDS-certified) and Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (MDSO).
Throughout his career, Dr. Pearlman has been dedicated to the scientific advancement of dermatology, quality improvement, and innovation in the field. He is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and five textbook chapters with a focus on photodermatology, skin cancer, and cosmetics.
Outside of the clinic, he is dedicated to innovation and problem-solving. In 2021, Dr. Pearlman was awarded the American Dermatological Association Resident Research Award, the highest honor bestowed on housestaff by the organization, for his work integrating dermatology's clinical data registry into Epic EHR.
Dr. Pearlman was recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) with an Excellence in Patient Care Award for Quality Improvement in Spring 2022; he was named one of five national Residents of Distinction by DermMentors. Outside of dermatology, Ross enjoys all outdoor activities, especially wilderness backpacking, flyfishing, and skiing.
