Over time our facial structure changes. Wrinkles may become more noticeable and the skin loses its underlying support structure. Soft tissue augmentation, commonly called “fillers” are used to help rebuild the underlying support, add volume and rejuvenate the face. Dr. Chitgopeker works closely with patients to discuss desired outcomes and will tailor treatment plans based on individual patient needs. We have several types of fillers in our tool kit at MDA, falling two filler categories; Hyaluronic Acid and Poly-l-lacic Acid fillers.
Hyaluronic acid fillers
These products can soften and improve unwanted facial lines around the mouth, corners of the lips (nasolabial folds) and marionette lines. They can also be used to fill and enhance thin lips, fill under eye hollows and restore volume to flattened or sunken cheeks. In younger patients they can enhance facial features such as cheeks and lips. MDA carries both Juvederm and Restylane Hyaluronic acid fillers.Depending on the product use and placement, results may last between 9 to 24 months.
Poly-l-lactic acid filler (Sculptra)
Sculptra is an injectable that works gradually to rebuild collagen that is lost in the normal aging process. 2-4 treatment sessions of 2-4 repeated every 6 to 8 weeks are generally recommended to help restore volume loss throughout the face. Though each patient varies, results can last up to 2 years.
